SUSAN
LASSITER

I have lived in Smithfield for most of my life and raised my family here. I know the community because I have been active in civic affairs for a long time. I am a past president of the Greater Smithfield-Selma Area Chamber of Commerce, a former chairman of the Downtown Smithfield Development Corporation, past president of Habitat for Humanity of Johnston County, a founder of the Johnston County YMCA, and presently a member of the Board of Trustees of Centenary United Methodist Church and president of the Johnston County Arts Council. I served for eight years on the Smithfield Town Council.

I am a REALTOR® and broker affiliated with the The Kelly Cobb Home Team of Fonville Morisey Realty, a Long & Foster Company. I have memberships in the Johnston County Association of Realtors, the Triangle Multiple Listing Service, and the Raleigh Regional Association of Realtors.

In representing buyers, I can show you properties listed in the Triangle Multiple Listing Service. This is a large database service for REALTORS® who are located in over 16 counties throughout the Greater Triangle Region of North Carolina. In representing sellers, I can do a market analysis, list properties for sale, and professionally market them through printed advertisements, the Triangle Multiple Listing Service, and the Internet.

A few words about Smithfield . . .

Smithfield is the county seat of Johnston County, and one of the oldest towns in North Carolina. Founded in 1777, Smithfield has an interesting history that still is reflected in some of our lovely older neighborhoods, our revitalized downtown business district, our Town Commons along the Neuse River, and in our renowned Johnston County Heritage Center.

Our community has grown to more than 12,000 residents and is located in the center of Johnston County – a county with a population approaching 150,000. Smithfield is well-located with convenient access via major highways, railroads, and airports. Raleigh, our dymanic state capital, is only 28 miles away, and we're just two hours from North Carolina’s beaches and four hours from the mountains.

The Smithfield area offers a number of available homes in a variety of styles, prices, and locations. Locations range from historic neighborhoods with elegant older homes to several new and inviting subdivisions. If you are interested in new construction, single-family homes and town houses are being built in established neighborhoods and also near our golf courses, including lakeside vistas. Building sites are also available for custom-built homes. Housing choices are wide open for preferences and tastes.

For more information about our community, click on the "Community Links" at the bottom of this page to access Web sites for our town and county governments, our chamber of commerce, our hospital, and our schools.
